The Joint Commission has opened for field review a proposed requirement intended to establish performance expectations for ORYX accountability measures in hospitals.

The Joint Commission requires hospitals to provide performance measurement data for their ORYX core measures quarterly, but does not have in place a mechanism for requiring organizations to then achieve a specific level of performance in conjunction with this data.
