As part of the organization’s ongoing process to comply with CMS Conditions of Participation (CoP), The Joint Commission announced this week revisions and additions to the elements of performance (EP) relating to psychiatric hospital requirements. These new and revised EPs, which will go into effect on Feb. 1, 2011, are intended to bring The Joint Commission’s requirements more in line with CMS CoPs.
