The Joint Commission has released prepublication standards for a revision to the Waived testing chapter, specifically WT.04.01.01.

This standard requires healthcare organization to perform quality checks for waived testing on each procedure. The standard is effective immediately for the following programs:

Ambulatory
Behavioral
Hospital
Home Care
Laboratory
Long Term Care
Long Term Care (Medicare/Medicaid Certification-Based)
Office-Based Surgery
