The flu is having a big impact on the nation’s hospitals, according to Reuters. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says flu is widespread in 43 states, a week after reporting that deaths from flu and pneumonia have reached an epidemic level.
Six children died from the flu in the last week of December to bring the total number of flu-related deaths to 21 this season.
