CMS to resume releasing hospital-acquired conditions data

The CMS will make data on eight hospital-acquired conditions available on its website, a year after removing it last summer from its Hospital Compare site, according to USA Today. Before the data were removed, the Hospital Compare site listed hospital-acquired conditions for thousands of acute-care hospitals.

The data include “never events” such as infections such as MRSA and sepsis and foreign objects left in patients’ bodies.
