Joint Commission, ASHE unveil environmental safety portal

The Joint Commission and the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) launched a new Physical Environment Portal last week to provide hospitals with online resources and tools to comply with the most challenging Life Safety (LS) and Environment of Care (EC) standards.

Announced at the annual ASHE conference in Boston, the portal will offer two-month modules that highlight the eight LS/EC standards cited most frequently by The Joint Commission. The first module will cover utility systems (EC.02.05.01) in August and September.
