The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced modifications to its hospital quality measures data reporting requirements under its Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) and the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting Program. A number of these changes will go into effect January 1, 2014, having implications for Joint Commission accredited hospitals using the aligned CMS/Joint Commission National Hospital Inpatient Quality Measures to meet Joint Commission ORYX core measure reporting requirements.
