With COVID-19 hospitalizations again rising in the last few weeks and a new variant of the virus causing concerns, the Department of Health and Human Services has again extended the national public health emergency (PHE).

The PHE, which allows hospitals and other providers certain flexibilities, has been renewed every 90 days since the pandemic was first declared in early 2020.

This extension is effective July 15, which means it will run through October 13, 2022.
